The section was invited once again to attend the fourth M.G. Northumbria Classic Vehicle Show held at Tynedale Park Corbridge situated on the banks of the River Tyne.
Each year the show is held in aid of local charities and this year the proceeds were donated to Hexham Priory School which provides education to children with severe learning difficulties. The school is moving to a new building in September this year and the donation will be used to equip the new facility.
The day started with a few black clouds and the odd shower or two, but as the exhibitors started to arrive the sun came out. The show attracts a great variety of cars from pre-war to modern day. The displays are divided into years 1940/50's 1960's 1970's ect. and also displays by motoring clubs such as MG Northumbria, Durham Classic Cars, RREC and many more. Trophies are awarded for Best in Class and the Best in Show. This year, yet again our Chairman, Derek Moss won a trophy for Best Car in the1950's class with his 1955 Silver Dawn.
We were entertained throughout the afternoon by a display of vehicles in the arena, Northumberland Junior Firefighters and The Newcastle Concert Band.
This was an excellent day being made more interesting due to the great diversity of all the different vehicles on display, and of course good sunny weather.
